Whisking Up Ideas

Concept Statement
“Bakery Bingo” is a lively, bakery-themed game designed for food lovers who enjoy all things sweet and baked. Ideal for casual gatherings or themed parties, players match iconic treats from around the world to their bingo cards, competing to shout “Bingo!” first. The game’s purpose is to offer a fun way to celebrate a passion for sweets. In the future, it will be customized to reflect my dream bakery and will include options to feature other bakeries across Michigan.
User Need Statement
Users need an engaging and interactive way to explore and experience a variety of international desserts, providing a fun setting to appreciate sweets from different cultures.

The Sweet Touch

Visual Aesthetic
Next, I developed a color palette for my design's visual aesthetic. A bakery typically uses colors representing sweetness, so I decided to go with two shades of pink and neutral brown to be easy on the eye, but also create contrast. My final choices were FF499E, 779BE7 & EACAB6.
I wanted a fancy font, like a bakery but easy for the user to read. My final choices were Trocchi and Agbalumo.

Taste Testing

Coolor Contrast Checker Results
Before producing my final product, I wanted to ensure it was accessible and easy to navigate. I used the Coolors contrast checker which rates the contrast of my colors. I checked my background and text color because that is what's predominantly used throughout the prototype.

Feedback
I also asked a couple of users to rate the ease of navigation, accessibility, visual aesthetic and overall purpose of the app.
User 1: I really like the color contrast. It makes the content easy to read and see. I think the game is easy to navigate because it is self-explanatory.
User 2: As a person who loves sweets, this game catered to me from the colors to the font. I also love the use of desserts from different countries. Having the option to choose different countries for playing cards is clever.
